Accessing bucket from Notebooks in R

Hello! I'm new to Firecloud and would like to use the Notebooks feature to run some basic data analysis in R on data I've uploaded to a bucket. I see the example notebooks using the Python FireCloud API and am wondering what the equivalent is for R? (Or, if not a fancy API, just a way to read the files in the bucket?).
I found the googleCloudStorageR library but, if that's the right way, I am unsure how to go about authentication.
