We created open and controlled access workspaces for each of the hg38-harmonized TCGA cohorts (cancer types). The controlled access workspaces are in the TCGA-dbGaP-authorized authorization domain, the open access workspaces are NOT in the authorization domain. However, when I (I'm logged in as a user that is NOT a member of the TCGA authorization domain) try to enter the open access workspace, a dialog window is displayed with the following:
For access to TCGA protected data please apply for access via dbGaP [instructions can be found here].
After dbGaP approves your application please link your eRA Commons ID in your FireCloud profile page.
Interestingly, this problem does not appear when I access the hg19 open access workspaces.
The hg38 workspaces were created and added to the library in late June.
@nmcabili has experienced the same problem.
